Bank of America menguji aplikasi Mobile Wallet for BlackBerry menggunakan NFC

Integration with BlackBerry ID (BBID)
Developed by RIM, BlackBerry ID (BBID) provides users with a single user account and credentials to access RIM services and third party services. Users can store and manage their personal information and preferences which can be used to provide personalized application experiences.

BlackBerry ID provides a unified view of a user’s information and preferences to RIM services and participating 3rd parties, who can use BlackBerry ID to authenticate users and access personal information in order to quickly enrol a user and personalize an application to user preferences.

With the release of BIS 4.0, all devices with handheld software 6.1+ and a BBID will have their BIS account associated with their BBID. The use of BBID will provide users with the ability to seamlessly switch their devices by inputting their BBID on their new device. This will switch all services over to the new device, including the BIS Email account.

Note: Users with a BBID will not be able to access the HTML user interface – only on device management through the email setup application will be available.

Improved BIS End User Communications
Currently, BIS communicates with end users for a variety of different reasons (i.e. upgrade notifications). These communications are sent using PIN messaging, which are text based and do not allow for dynamic content. As a result, these messages often ignored due to their unofficial look/feel.

In BIS 4.0, a new method of communication will be introduced to help improve the effectiveness of the messages BIS sends to end users. The improved messages aim to help improve the customer experience when action is required by creating a richer, more appealing message. Improvements will include branding all messages with the BlackBerry logo (making it look more official), and ensuring the message appear at the top of the inbox, even after other messages are received afterwards. The improved messages will also be sent in rich text, and allow for a user to launch their Email Settings directly from the message. The improved communications will help reduce support calls by increasing the likelihood of an end user resolving their issue by reading and following the steps outlined in the message.

Note: Improved BIS communications requires HH SW 6.1+.

The deadline for the free BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet offer is fast approaching. Whether you have already submitted your app or you plan to do so soon, your app will need to be signed before it can be accepted into BlackBerry App World™ storefront.

We’re excited to announce that you can now sign apps using the latest version of the BlackBerry® Tablet OS SDK. Below is a quick overview of how to get started with application signing on the BlackBerry Tablet OS. Be sure you have installed the most recent version of either the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK for Adobe® AIR®, or the BlackBerry® WebWorks™ SDK for BlackBerry Tablet OS. You can download the latest version of either SDK from the BlackBerry Tablet OS Application Development site.
Before you start signing your application, you have to register with the Research In Motion® (RIM®) Signing Authority. Fill out the web form – registration is free, but you need a credit card to complete the registration process. A $1 hold will be placed on your account to verify the credit card. The hold is released after your credit card company accepts the transaction, and the hold will not appear on your monthly bill. When the registration process is complete, you receive a CSJ registration file via email.

There are two phases to the signing process: configuring your computer, and signing the application. You only need to configure your computer once. To configure your computer:

1. Initialize communication with the RIM Signing Authority: The signing tool is designed to prevent tampering and eavesdropping on information it exchanges with the RIM Signing Authority.
2. Register your CSJ registration file with the RIM Signing Authority: Once you have initialized the communication channel, you can register your CSJ file, which uniquely identifies you to the RIM Signing Authority.
3. Ensure that you have a Developer Certificate: You can use the signing tool to create a developer certificate, or provide your own. If you create a Developer Certificate using the signing tools, ensure that the common name (company name) parameter matches what you enter in the Company field on the registration form. If you have an existing Developer Certificate you use to sign your Adobe® Flash® applications, ensure that the name you enter in the Company field on the registration form matches the common name (company name) of your existing certificate. You will not be able to sign your BlackBerry Tablet OS Application if these names do not match.

Once your development environment is configured, you’re ready to sign your application:

1. Request a signature from the RIM Signing Authority: Use the signing tool to request that the RIM Signing Authority applies a signature to your application.
2. Apply your signature: Use the signing tool to sign your application using your Developer Certificate.

You now have a signed application that you can upload to BlackBerry App World for distribution to customers or other users. For more information about using BlackBerry App World, see the Vendor Portal Administration Guide.

Blacberry Protect mungkin salah satu aplikasi yang paling ditunggu oleh pengguna Blackberry. Twitter for BlackBerry v1.1 (Beta): Geotagging and More!

Twitter® is getting an update! We’re thrilled to bring you the latest beta version of Twitter for BlackBerry® smartphones v1.1, which recently launched through BlackBerry® Beta Zone.

Some of the new and exciting features in this release include Geotagging Tweets, Push @Mentions, Chat-Style Messages, #Topic Autocomplete and more! You’ll also notice that we’ve updated the Twitter graphics throughout the app to reflect the new look of the Twitter brand.

Geotagging Tweets

Geotagging functionality on Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones is designed to allow you to add your geographical location to Tweets (i.e. the neighborhood and city you are located in at the time of your Tweet). Geotags provide valuable context to your Tweets, as it allows others to see what location you’ve tweeted from. You can enable this feature in the Options menu, as it is turned off by default.

Push @Mentions

Now when you’re mentioned on Twitter, you’ll immediately receive a notification on your BlackBerry smartphone through the use of BlackBerry Push technology. You can control whether you want to be notified when anyone mentions you, or just when your followers mention you. With Push @Mentions, you’ll know who is talking about you or to you, so you can continue the conversation as it happens.

Chat-Style Messages

We’ve renamed Direct Messages to Messages to align with the online Twitter experience and redesigned the interface to follow a chat-style layout. Personally, this is one of my favorite changes! :)

#Topic Autocomplete

The #Topic Autocomplete feature will pop up a list of keywords based on previous hashtagged words(e.g. blackberry ) in Tweets, Retweets, or any hashtagged words you’ve selected or searched for in Popular Topics, as well as in applications like Facebook® for BlackBerry smartphones.

Blackberry leak Torch 2 by UAProf

A few weeks ago we've seen a few leaked Blackberry that will come out in 2011. One of the forecast for this year is out in the Blackberry Torch 2.

According to the UAProf documents found online, the BlackBerry 9810 has a resolution of 480x640, same as the resolution of Torch 2, which predicted it. This means it seems Torch 9800 will have a new family member. The following specifications are expected from the Torch 2:

T-Mobile Looking To Discontinue Flexpay Plan

T-Mobile is looking to end their Flexpay program which was setup for customers who didn’t have the best of credit. When T-Mobile ran the customer’s credit, depending on the approval the customer would be put into three different categories. First a post paid plan under contract, second a Flexpay with contract and lastly a Flexpay with no contract.

If you were approved into the Flexpay plan with contract, you would get setup with a regular two year agreement and get a subsidized price on a phone, but at a higher cost than a postpaid customer. Also, with the Flexpay plan you would be charged $4.99 because we can control charge which would drop off if you setup auto payment.

The Flexpay program seems to have been something that brought in customers to the #4 carrier. I don’t see why T-Mobile would want to get rid of a plan that works and didn’t seem to have any negative feedback.

If T-Mobile does get rid of this plan I feel it goes against their plans of becoming the #3 carrier. T-Mobile is struggling and eliminating plans that bring in customers is usually not the way to cure that.

1. Kirim PIN message ke contact untuk verify PIN delivery status. Caranya, bisa lihat KB02913.

3. Jika PIN message tidak terkirim verify status signal dan hubungi wireless service provider jika ada masalah dengan PIN message delivery.

* BBM request terkirim melalui email dan masuk ke dalam SPAM.

1. Log in ke email account
2. Cek SPAM/Junk folder.
3. Jika email masuk disitu, mark it sebagai not SPAM/Junk dan tunggu BlackBerry® Internet Service untuk mengirim message ke device anda.

I commend you on the success of your Angry Birds franchise. In app stores/marketplaces where the title is available, you have emerged in the coveted position of being that first game everybody wants to download. Heck, you're almost a tax at this point - think of the millions of minutes of wasted time that could be saved if Angry Birds just came preloaded on devices and the cost was built into the price of the phone/tablet/other gadget. People are going to buy it anyways, so think of all of the time people would save that could go into something productive, like curing... ahh, who am I kidding? It would just go into playing more Angry Birds. I guess what I'm really saying here is Congratulations! You're #1! But what about us freak'n BlackBerry users?!


Seriously, I don't think you guys understand the number of emails I get every single day from BlackBerry users wondering where they can download Angry Birds for their BlackBerry. You see, it's not just people on platforms where Angry Birds is available that are wasting time downloading something that might as well come pre-installed at this point - people are wasting tons of time trying to find Angry Birds for platforms where it doesn't even exist. I almost choked on a Cinnamon Heart today (chowing down on leftovers from Valentine's Day) when I was browsing through our site analytics and saw how many people are landing on CrackBerry because they're searching the web for Angry Birds for BlackBerry. It was a little ridiculous. And what do they ultimately find? Disappointment and heart break instead of birds and pigs.


So please Rovio, PLEASE... can you give us BlackBerry users what we want? We want Angry Birds for BlackBerry! I'd actually feel a little better if you came forward and straight out told us the current BlackBerry OS and in-market phone hardware isn't quite up to par with what you need to deliver a compelling Angry Birds experience. Then I could shift some of the blame on RIM and not you. But if that were the case, I'd at least ask you to please check out RIM's 2011 BlackBerry Smartphone Roadmap. BlackBerry 6.1 looks a lot more game friendly, and with more touchscreens and much faster processors on their next generation of hardware I'd *hope* you'd be able to make Angry Birds rock on a BlackBerry Smartphone and that the work to make that happen would already be underway. I haven't even mentioned the BlackBerry PlayBook yet. The BlackBerry PlayBook and its QNX-based BlackBerry Tablet OS is going to deliver an awesome gaming experience, and we've already seen that EA (who I believe bought your publisher, but now you're so big you don't need a publisher so I don't get what your corporate dealio is anymore) is working with RIM to put Need for Speed Undercover and Tetris onto the PlayBook. That's cool and all and I'm excited for it, but what we really, really, really, really would all love to be able to play on the PlayBook the day we buy one is Angry Birds. I know being #1 at something has its perks, but the position also comes with responsibility. Saying nothing is torture. Can't you let us know where us BlackBerry users stand are slingshotted in your Angry Birds roadmap?


I'm just one voice in this crazy BlackBerry world (albeit a slightly annoying one with a little bit of reach), so I hope beyond this letter some of our readers will step up in the comments to this post and mirror their desire for Rovio to make Angry Birds available for BlackBerry. And in true blogger fashion, at the bottom of this letter/post I'm going to put in two links of hope. The first, an active link to signup for the CrackBerry Newsletter so we can notify all of those BlackBerry Angry Birds googling souls that we will notify them via email the moment Angry Birds for BlackBerry becomes available. The second will be a link to download Angry Birds for BlackBerry, which will remain inactive until the day Angry Birds does become available and I can link it up to App World or the CrackBerry App Store or wherever. I have faith in you Rovio that you'll do the right thing. Please, please do the right thing and give us some birds and eggs and pigs to go along with our BlackBerrys.

Twitter for Blackberry update

Twitter for Blackberry baru saja memberikan updatenya yang terbaru, yaitu versi 1.0.1.12 dan updatenya bisa didownload melalui Blackberry App World. Belum diketahui perbaikan-perbaikan seperti apa yang sudah dilakukan di versi ini, tetapi seperti biasa, versi terbaru selalu memperbaiki bugs yang mengganggu dari versi sebelumnya.

Sampai saat ini ada tiga aplikasi yang menjadi favorit bagi pengguna Twitter yang menggunakan Blackberry sebagai alat untuk update status. Ketiganya adalah Twitter for Blackberry, Uber twitter dan Social Scope. Twitter for Blackberry bisa didownload melalui Blackberry App World, Uber Twitter bisa didapat melalui website mereka www.ubertwitter.com, sedangkan SocialScope hanya bisa diperoleh melalui Register di www.socialscope.net lalu tunggu Invite Code yang akan diemail dari mereka.

RIM menyiapkan Dana Bantuan sebesar 150M USD

Setelah sukses dengan BlackBerry Partners Fund yang pertama, RIM telah menyiapkan modal dana ventura kedua sebesar $ 150 juta untuk diinvestasikan ke dalam prakarsa "komputasi mobile".

Dana kedua ini memiliki mandat lebih global daripada dana pertama, yang melihat beberapa akuisisi yang cukup keren seperti SocialDeck oleh Google.
